SVCS Student Who Died last Summer to be Honored at School's Home Opener
This Friday’s football game will be among the most meaningful in Saddleback Valley Christian Schools’ history. That night, the first home game of the season, will be dedicated to honoring the memory of Nick Siciliani who would have been a junior this year. Nick, along with his father Jim, died in a tragic car accident last June. The SVCS community is coming together to support the Siciliani family with an evening filled with meaningful tributes to Nick who was also an integral part of the Warrior Varsity football team. Time will also be set aside to celebrate the impact that the scholarship which bears his name – the N50 Siciliani Football Scholarship – has had on Warrior football.
The game will be played at San Juan Hills High School; kick-off is at 7:00 pm. Highlights of the evening will include:

- Singing of the national anthem by Nick’s sister, Chelsea, and some of her 6th grade classmates
- Calling of the coin toss by Nick’s brother, Greg, who is an 8th grader at SVCS
- Nick’s favorite songs played intermittently during the evening
- Halftime performances by SVCS cheer and dance teams wearing Nick’s jersey number (50)
- Presentation of a check from Nick’s mom, Debbie, to Athletic Director, Rod Markum, for the N50 Siciliani Football Scholarship which has already made it possible for several young men to play Warrior football.
To culminate the halftime tribute, teammates will release 50 royal blue, black and silver balloons (SVCS colors) in remembrance of Siciliani. And, in a show of support to the San Clemente community who recently lost one of their own, the Warriors will release 10 red and black balloons in memory of former Triton Nick Pasquale (#10).
Saddleback Valley Christian Schools invites the entire south county community to be a part of this poignant event. Anyone wearing the number 50 will receive half off their admission to the game. All proceeds will be donated to the N50 Siciliani Family Scholarship which exists to help SVCS students who would otherwise be unable to play football.
