The “white lady” walks Los Rios Street. The “devil dog” shows up in various areas from Los Rios to Trabuco Creek. A faceless monk is said to wander at night, of course. 

Pamela Hallan Gibson’s Dos Cientos Años en San Juan Capistrano has a chapter on “ghosts, treasurers and other tales.” In October, Historical Society walking tour guides lead brave walkers on a ghost tour of the old neighborhood on Los Rios Street.

We love ghost stories, especially ones that are extra spooky because of this town's historical roots.
