What's Closed on Veteran's Day

Your guide to what you can and cannot do today in San Juan Capistrano.

Veteran’s Day is a national holiday, and so you’ll find many offices closed today.

San Juan Capistrano City Hall is closed Monday and will reopen for business 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov.13.

Schools in the Capistrano Unified School District are closed, but you already knew that because they are sleeping in! The district’s regularly scheduled school board meeting has been changed to Wednesday.

The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail today. If the check’s in the mail, you’ll have to wait one more day.

Trash pick-up, however, will be right on time, so get those bins out to the curb, stat.

You can also get your trade on. Once known as Armistice Day, Veteran’s Day is not on one of the nine holidays observed by the stock markets.

Maybe it’s that whole “market” thing, but grocery stores are open.

Then again, maybe not. Banks today are closed, including Bank of America, Union Bank and Wells Fargo.
