GROUNDWATER RECOVERY PLANT: Between Aug. 1 and Aug. 15, the plant operated at an average production level of 3.31 million gallons per day, or 10.16 acre feet per day.
Utilities Department staffers have started blending greensand for a portion of the treated well water through the bypass line in the plant.
Production to date for the fiscal year, (July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012), has been 395 acre feet, headed towards the target of 3,500 acre feet for this year.
: On Aug. 16, the City Council directed staff to proceed with design and implementation of the dog park on a 1.5-acre site in the Northwest Open Space area.
SADDLEBACK VALLEY CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS: Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the private school master plan including construction of a 21,050-square-foot classroom, a 14,000-square foot gymnasium, removal of the remaining temporary modular buildings and . The school obtained building permits to construct the interim trail last week and anticipated completion is 45 days.
Seven business representatives met with Caltrans, OCTA and city representatives last week to voice their objection to the construction of the sound wall and requested of the government officials:
- Do not build the wall.
- Stop the wall short of the business center.
- Build a see-through wall (Para-glass wall option).
- Place a sign for the businesses above the wall.
- Place a sign for the businesses in the state right-of-way next to the finished wall.
- Instead of the wall, Caltrans should provide double-pane windows for the residents in the area.
HABITAT CONSERVATION FUND: The city received another open space grant for $100,000 for habitat restoration in the northwest open space area.
