SJC Forecast Calls for Sunny Start to 2013

Saturday's showers dropped almost a quarter-inch of rain on San Juan Capistrano.

The scattered showers that swept through Orange County Saturday sprinkled San Juan Capistrano with .24 of an inch of rain, according to National Weather Service records.

The system has passed through, with a few drops still possible Sunday afternoon, and sunny skies dominate the forecast for the start of 2013.

Sunday afternoon: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. West wind around 10 mph.

Sunday night: A 20 percent chance of showers before 10 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the evening.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 58. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39. Light north wind becoming northeast 5 to 10 mph in the evening.

New Year’s Day: Sunny, with a high near 60. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.
