Trustees Represent The Interests of Students and the Taxpayers In All Matters Before the Board

Many parents and members of the public do not understand the role of the Board of Trustees at their local school district. Trustees are elected to represent Students and the Taxpayers in all matters before the Board.

In order for School Districts to meet requirements of Public Disclosure, the Public must have an opportunity to express their views to Trustees, their elected representatives. Conversations with District Staff or the Superintendent do not fulfill public disclosure laws. 


If you have an issue or concern with the District, make sure to contact the Board of Trustees- your elected representatives. You can cc the Superintendent and appropriate District Staff as a curtesy, but it is the Trustees that your message should reach. They were elected to represent you as a taxpayer, and your student. Even though CUSD elects Trustees by geographical area, you should send your message to all Trustees on the Board.
