Exercise and Nature at it's best

If you have never been to Strands Beach in Dana Point, keep reading and find out what you are missing. If you have been there I hope you enjoy my photographs.

Strands Beach in Dana Point is my favorite place to go walk. It is a very popular exercise spot for people of all shapes, sizes and ages. There is a large free parking lot, when you arrive and get out of your car you see the walkway at the top of the bluff. Walking from one end of the bluff to the other is a quarter of a mile. Many people walk at the top for their exercise. On any given day at any time of day will see people walking, many with their dogs. There are some tables and benches for sitting and enjoying the amazing view. There is always a strong ocean breeze on the bluff. There are several choices for how to get down to the beach. There are three different stairways. The photo of the stairs posted here is the north stairway, it is easy breezy go down, it’s the coming up that gets my heart rate going. Along side of that stairway is a lift elevator, called the Funicular, it is on rails that go up the side of the hill.
