Orange County residents are gearing up to ring in 2012 on Saturday night. With many parties and events taking place throughout the county, OCTA is making it easy to get home safely with no charge.

For the 10th year in a row, OCTA is offering free bus rides on all local routes between 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31 and 2:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1.

Last year, 15,540 residents took advantage of the free bus services on New Year’s Eve. Get home safely this year and join the 102,000 people who have boarded since the program began in 2002.

With DUI arrests on the rise this year, it is important to think about an alternative to getting home safely. This year, from Dec. 16 to Dec. 25 nearly 500 DUI arrests were made in Orange County compared to 408 arrests last year.

To get info on the New Year’s Eve service and to check bus routes and schedules, visit OCTA’s website at www.octa.net or call (714) 636-7433.
