Alleged Robber Implicates Cohorts; Trial Date Set

Hearing dates for suspects in the infamous Monaco Jewelry store robbery that left two suspects shot and killed by store employees are set for early 2013.

One of five men accused in a bloody Capistrano Beach robbery last year is set up with a separate trial because he testified against his alleged cohorts.

"My client made some statements against the others that was used against them," said defense attorney Brian Gurwitz, lawyer for George Anthony Boozer.

Hearing dates next year have been set for men accused in the botched San Juan Capistrano jewelry store robbery; a pretrial hearing for Boozer is set for March 29, a month after the other suspects are set to face a jury Feb. 22.

After being held at gunpoint, two Monaco employees shot and killed two suspects, according to accounts previously released by law enforcement officials. The employees were not charged.

Initially, the DA’s office had charged four men with the crime: Boozer, 39, and Alan Keith Hunter, 35 of Moreno Valley and Gardena residents James Stephan Paschall, 35, and Eddie Allan Clark, 27.

They subsequently added Eddie Allen Clark, Sr.

The other four men's lawyers are going to call into question witnesses ability to identify the men, asserting the defendants in custody are not the ones who committed the crime.
