Body of SJC Man Found at Detox Center

KABC News is reporting that a body found at a detox center in Huntington Beach is a 28-year-old San Juan Capistrano resident.

Huntington Beach Police say the body found at West Coast Detox Center belongs to Jason Redmer, according to KABC. Officials say the coroner’s office is investigating the death.

Redmer was a patient at the center, which detoxifies patients before they enter a treatment program.

KABC reported that a number of neighbors have complained about the center since it opened last year. Not only is West Coast located next to homes, it’s also near an elementary school.

"It's very sad when anybody loses their life but at the same time I'm not entirely surprised," Huntington Beach resident Kristine Callahan told KABC.

West Coast Detox Services Executive Director Don Ramsey had no comment Monday.
