Fights, Shots Fired and Ding-Dong Ditching

Sheriff's Blotter: Here are various reports pulled from the San Juan Capistrano Police Services dispatch log during the past few days.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.

At 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday in the 32300 block of Alipaz Street, a caller reported several minors breaking glass from behind the housing track. The minors said they were breaking a fish tank.

At 2:35 p.m. and 3:27 p.m. on Tuesday in the 26400 block on Calle San Luis, a caller reported three minors smoking marijuana

At 11:37 a.m. on Tuesday in the 25900 block on Avenida Cabrillo, a caller reported someone ringing her doorbell on Sunday. No further details were given.

At 5:43 p.m. on Tuesday in the 31100 block on Old San Juan Road, a caller reported a stone thrown at the caller’s vehicle at the housing track off Old San Juan Road. The stone smashed the callers window. No further details were reported.

At 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, a Christmas tree was left in a street lane on San Juan Creek Road near Valley Road, just under the freeway overpass, causing a traffic hazard.

At 4:40 p.m. on Sunday in the 27300 block at Calle Arroyo, a caller who was standing outside of the business complex, reported a man having sex with an under-aged female on the creek trail behind the complex.

At 4:22 p.m. on Sunday at Camino Las Ramblas and Montanas Del Mar, a caller reported three men firing a pistol into the canyon while standing at the dead-end of the fire road. No further details were reported.

At 3:52 p.m. on Sunday at Del Obispo Street and Ortega Highway, a caller from a Chevron gas station reported a male transient sleeping in a parking spaceof an Arby’s restaurant. When customers asked him to move, he refused. There were no further details.

At 12:33 p.m. on Sunday in the 32800 block offVia Del Amo, a caller reported two suspicious men biking though different backyards.  

At 2:07 a.m. on Sunday at Taco Bell on Del Obispot Street near Ortega Highway, a caller reported a man with a shaved head wearing all black and covered in tattoos, asking people for a ride. The caller also stated the suspect was talking to himself about how he just got out of jail and how he’s committed a couple of murders.

At 7:45 p.m. on Saturday in the 31600 block of Lobo Street, a caller reported two suspects between 14-17 years old who took the neighbor’s bike off his front porch. After the caller reported the information, the caller said the two suspects ran from her house toward the creek area. Shortly after, the caller heard a loud boom and found their front screen door kicked in.

At 11:50 a.m. on Saturday in the 31300 block of Avenida Terramar, a caller reported a white man in his 20s with black hair and black glasses wearing a dark-colored shirt that said ‘Cox’ on the front. Suspect also carried a Cox identification card, but did not arrive in a truck, possibly arrived on foot. Cox was called and said they did not send anyone out to the residence.

At 8:22 a.m. on Saturday, a caller reported a neighbor dispute about leaves in her yard in the 30800 block of Paseo El Arco.

At 8:37 p.m. last Friday, a caller reported several junveniles ding-dong ditching his residence and proceeded to get into a verbal confrontation with the junveniles in the 31000 block of Via Limon.

At 2:42 p.m. last Friday, a caller reported two suspects dressed in all blackcarrying what appeared to be black rifles near the trailhead at 29200 block of Vista Montana. The caller was not sure if the rifles were real.

At 11:48 p.m. Dec. 15, a caller reported a burglary at 31700 block at Camino Capistrano. A white Jeep Wrangler was broken into while it was parked next to the Camino Real Playhouse. No loss was reported.

At 10:45 p.m. Dec. 15 in the 26500 block at Paseo San Gabriel, a caller reported a verbal and physical fight between a man and a woman. The caller stated the man was kicking the woman, would not let her get in her car and hit her in the face. No arrests were made.

At 7:35 p.m. Dec. 15 in the 31600 block of La Novia Avenue, a person was seen erratically driving in a light blue Ford pickup truck through a high school parking lot. The person almost ran over several people. No further details were given.

At 5:53 p.m. Dec. 15, a 16-year-old caller stated her ex-boyfriend was disturbing the peace with verbal confrontation and broke the glass of a fire extinguisher at the 31200 block of Calle San Juan. The ex-boyfriend had no weapons and is on probation for possession, the informant reported.
