Holiday Drunks and Illegal Fireworks

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided. 

At 6:22 a.m. Thursday, deputies arrested a 36-year-old woman near the Ortega Highway-Camino Capistrano intersection. According to the report, authorities discovered the woman had a warrant out for her arrest. She was taken into custody, and bail was set for $15,000.00. 

At 3:07 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a vandalism in progress in the 32800 block of Valle Road. The informant reported she was awoken by someone breaking her bedroom window

At 12:33 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a firework violation near the Camino Capistrano-Calle Lorenzo intersection. According to the report, a group of minors was setting off multiple fireworks on Calle Lorenzo. 

At 10:11 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a reckless driver near Del Obispo Street and Calle Aspero. According to the report, the informant witnessed a drunken driver making illegal U-turns and was heading toward Dana Point Harbor.

At 6:38 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 32100 block of Camino Capistrano. The report stated that a woman got into a heated verbal argument with the cashier at regarding a purchase. 

At 3:21 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a firework violation near the intersection of Alipaz Street and Calle Jardin. According to the report, a man and a woman were seen skateboarding along the creek trail and would frequently stop to fire off bottle rockets. The subjects were seen near Mission Bell Park. 

At 2:44 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a drunken driver near the Del Obispo-Camino Del Avion intersection. According to the report, the driver of a red Nissan Sentra was seen driving up a curb on Stonehill Drive and proceeded to drive with two flat tires. 

At 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, deputies assisted animal control near Junipero Serra Road intersection at the I-5 Freeway. According to the report, a German Shepard was seen running off the freeway near Junipero Serra and the authorities were needed to control the animal. 

At 9:06 a.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to keep the peace for a call in the 29700 block of Millpond Court. The report stated that a 12-year-old boy was causing a disturbance by digging up association sprinklers

At 1:53 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 33100 block of Camino Capistrano. According to the report, employees of the needed assistance with two drunk men who were refusing to leave when asked. The men were reportedly in a heated verbal argument with Coach House security.
