Two Arrested at Massage Parlor

An undercover operation at a suspected "house of ill repute" went down Friday.

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two employees for alleged sex crimes during an undercover sting at a San Juan Capistrano day spa, officials said Monday.

Lt. John Meyer said the employees will be charged with solicitation-related offenses.

Deputies went undercover Friday night at Life’s Key Day Spa at 32086 Camino Capistrano, Meyer said. The business’s website says the spa offers therapeutic massages and acupuncture, among other services.

Meyer said the department received an anonymous tip about potential crimes being committed at the spa.

Arrested were Sophia Phuong Hyunh, 51, the spa manager -- on suspicion of operating a brothel -- and Hoa T. Nyugen, 46, a massage technician on suspicion of prositution and obstruction.

The investigation remains open and ongoing, Meyer said.

City code enforcement officials followed the bust and found numerous violations of city codes, Meyer said, including improper ventilation and illegal construction. Hyunh was arrested on suspicion of those violations as well.
