Lights Go Out on 1,500 in San Juan Capistrano

A power outage is affecting 1,500 San Diego Gas & Electric customers in San Juan Capistrano near City Hall this morning, according to a city news alert.

The lights went out at 8:46 this morning, according to SDG&E’s website. Power is expected to be restored by 11:30 a.m. today.

Workers are still trying to determine the cause. According to the map, the outage originates at the San Juan Capistrano substation on Camino Capistrano.

A reader tells Patch that fast food restaurants McDonald's and Carl's Jr. have closed because of the outage.
