Mariachi Music Ruins Holiday Spirit for Residents

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a very late theft report, a caller hears gunfire near the freeway, and one of these things just doesn't belong here.

At 11:31 p.m. Thursday Nov. 28, an annoyed caller reported a disturbance in the 31200 block of Calle Villa Clara. A live Mexican band was playing loud music and disturbing nearby residents. Deputies arrived to tone down the situation and the music.

Also:

At 10:24 a.m. Thursday Nov. 28, a caller reported a petty theft in the 28000 block of Via del Cerro. The caller’s jewelry had been stolen throughout the past month, however she was unsure who was possibly responsible.

At 10:32 p.m. Thursday Nov. 28, deputies received a report about a disturbance near the Ortega Highway and the I-5 Freeway. The caller claimed hearing shots fired near the freeway.

At 11:41 p.m. Thursday Nov. 28, someone called into report a suspicious person in a vehicle near the cross streets of Calle de la Rosa and Paseo Boveda. A vehicle was parked at the top of Porcupine Hill.

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
