Multiple Fires Burning on Camp Pendleton, Seen from SJC
It may look like just near San Juan Hills High, but the smoke you see is from several fires on the Marine base.
Several fires burning west of Southwest Riverside County are located on Camp Pendleton.
According to base spokesman 1st Lt. Ryan Welsh, the blazes are burning in the Whiskey, Zulu and Quebec impact areas.
It was unclear how many acres had been blackened by then, though the flames were "sending up a lot of smoke," the lieutenant said.
