Seemingly Minor Traffic Accident Downtown Turns into DUI Arrest

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a store receives threats, a disturbing person makes a run, and a worried caller reports a man walking on train tracks.

It really was Friday the 13th for one unlucky motorist. At 8:47 a.m. Friday Dec. 13, a caller reported a traffic accident near the cross streets of Verdugo Street and Camino Capistrano. A white Nissan and a gray Honda had collided in front of a local movie theater. Deputies arrived only to discover one of the motorists was allegedly driving drunk.  A 42-year-old man was arrested and has since been released from jail.

At 11:49 a.m. Thursday Dec. 12, deputies received a call about an unknown person making threats in the 33900 block of Doheny Park Road. Costco had received threats from an unidentified person inside the store.

At 4:09 p.m. Thursday Dec. 12, someone called to report a disturbance in the 26800 block of Ortega Highway. An unknown person was disturbing pedestrians. When deputies arrived, the perpetrator was gone.

At 10:12 a.m. Friday Dec. 13, a worried caller reported a suspicious person near the cross streets of Stonehill Drive and Camino Capistrano. The caller said a suspicious man was walking along the train tracks.
