Car Break-ins, a Fire, Fake Prescription

Sheriff's Blotter: Jan 19, 2012. Various reports taken from the San Juan Capistrano police dispatch log over the past few days.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.

At 4:36 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a burglary in progress in the 28900 block of Via Escolar. A man wearing a black hoddie was seen breaking into several cars. He was last seen driving off in a green mini van. 

At 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 32700 block of Alipaz Street. According to the report, the informant’s elderly mother was repeatedly banging on her front door and refused to leave when asked. There was no suspicion of narcotics.

At 10:52 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported acts of fraud in the 31800 block of Plaza Drive. A woman was caught attempting to purchase Vicodin with a fake prescription at the pharmacy. 

At 6:36 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to assist firefighters on Camino Capistrano north of Junipero Serra. According to the report, there was a structure fire at . A spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority said the fire caused about $1,000 in damage to an abandoned building.

At 2:28 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a firework violation in the 25800 block of Avenida Cabrillo. The informant reportedly saw a group of minors setting off M80 explosives.

At 12:55 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a noise disturbance in the 32100 block of Via Viente. Several intoxicated men were playing loud music inside of a vehicle and were disturbing the informant. 

At 9:22 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a drunk in public in the 31700 block of Rancho Viejo Road. A drunk man with a bloodied face was detained by deputies after he was refused entrance by employees of the , in the store parking lot. 

At 4:01 p.m. Sunday, police were called to patrol the wilderness trails near Camino Las Ramblas and Via California. The informant reported seeing two dirt bikers on the mountain bike trails. The subjects arrived in a white Ford Ranger. 

At 2:25 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 26500 block of La Zanja Street. According to the report, several subjects were seen drinking alcohol and being loud behind a apartment complex. 

At 1:00 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 25600 block of Via Del Rey. There was a heated argument between two neighbors. One neighbor claimed the other neighbor killed his Chihuahua.
