Swerving Silver Mazda Reported to Deputies

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a rowdy pedestrian, a suspicious driver is arrested, and a worried caller reports two speedy skateboarders.

At 10:57 p.m. Friday Nov. 15, an informant reported a drunk driver near the cross streets of La Novia Avenue and Ortega Highway. The caller said a silver Mazda was swerving on the freeway and had even scraped against the concrete divider.

At 7:34 p.m. Friday Nov. 15, someone asked for a welfare check near the cross streets of Camino Capistrano and La Zanja Street. The caller claimed a pedestrian was yelling at passing cars and stepping into traffic.

At 5:58 p.m. Saturday Nov. 16, a caller told deputies about a suspicious person in a vehicle near the cross streets of Trabuco Creek and Village Road. Deputies arrived, searched the vehicle, and arrested a 20-year-old man for unknown reasons. The man is currently in custody with a $25,000 bail amount posted.

At 11:21 a.m. Sunday Nov. 17, deputies received a call of a disturbance near the cross streets of Calle Conejo and Via Banderas. The caller stated two teens were riding down a large hill on skateboards, however had no way of stopping.

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
