Alleged Teen Car Thief Gets Cuffed

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a trashy roadblock, an unknown vandal strikes, and a wallet thief makes a successful getaway.

At 6:58 p.m. Thursday Dec. 5, deputies received a call about a stolen vehicle in the 27600 block of Morningstar Lane. Deputies arrived and tracked down the thief. An 18-year-old man was arrested and is currently in custody with a $10,000 bail posted.

Also:

At 2:54 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 4, someone reported a traffic hazard near the cross streets of La Pata Avenue and Vista Montana. A large bundle of landscape trash was in the middle of the road and blocking traffic flow.

At 8:31 a.m. Thursday Dec. 5, a caller told deputies about vandalism near the cross streets of Camino Las Ramblas and Via Del Agua. An unknown person had tagged the walls near a local business.

At 1:31 p.m. Thursday Dec. 5, deputies received a report about a theft in the 32000 block of Camino Capistrano. An unknown person had stolen the caller’s wallet inside a local Ross and driven away 10 minutes before the victim had called deputies. 

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
