Harkey Reports Economic Interests

In the statements of financial interests filed by California lawmakers Friday, (R-San Juan Capistrano) reported owning interest in seven South Orange County properties worth millions of dollars.

She owns four properties valued at more than $1 million each in San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, San Clemente and in Aliso Viejo. She also owns three worth between $100,000 and $1 million in Dana Point. Additionally she has 76 percent undivided ownership in a San Bernardino subdivision, valued at between $100,000 and $1 million.

On the San Juan Capistrano home, on Paseo Mira Loma, she collects between $10,000 and $100,000 in rent from a tenant named "Gallaher."

The statements, which list wealth and personal investments of California's elected officials, are filed yearly to show where potential conflicts of interest may exist.

Harkey also reported less than $200,000 in stocks, holdings and investments for 2010, and a family trust with a gross income of less than $500.

She reported a gross income of more than $100,000 for ownership of Point Center Financial, Inc., a mortgage lending and real estate asset management corporation based in Aliso Viejo. In her filing, Harkey identified four investment properties held by the corporation whose fair market value is more than $1 million each in Coachella, Apple Valley, Beaumont and Patterson.
