Ortega/I-5 Construction for the Week of Feb. 24

Here’s what Caltrans says is on the schedule for the Ortega Highway interchange project this week.

During the week of Feb. 24, lanes will be closed on the I-5 freeway to restripe and place K-rail barriers to prepare for future construction activities.

Scheduled nighttime closure(s) from Sunday, Feb. 24 to Tuesday, Feb. 26 include:

  • Lane closures on the northbound and southbound I-5 freeway from 
    Camino Capistrano to Junipero Serra Road.

Closures are plotted using a Google map and include specific closure times as well as recommended detours and are updated in real time on the project website at www.ortega.dot.ca.gov.

Caltrans has removed the fences surrounding the former Jack in the Box lot on the corner of Ortega Highway and Del Obispo Street. These fences will be replaced by the contractor. Please be advised that this lot is considered a construction site. Use caution when in the area.
