SJC Mayor Says, Take a Hike -- with Him

Monthly walks with the mayor on the city's trails begin this month.

From a city press release:
Mayor John Taylor invites the public to walk/hike the trails of San Juan Capistrano with him every third Saturday of the month.

This month, July 20, the mayor will start the walk at 8 a.m. at the staging area at the end of Camino Las Ramblas and then head up to the flag pole, which is the start of the Patriot Trail.

You can access the meeting spot from the I-5 exit at Camino Las Ramblas, and then head east. It is recommended that you bring drinking water and sun protection, such as sunblock and/or a hat.

The monthly walks/hikes are to encourage folks to utilize the vast San Juan Capistrano trail system. There are more than 40 miles of walkable hiking trails in the city's open space areas. A map to the city's trail system is available on the city's website.
