Physically Fit, Kinoshita Kids Earn Cash Prize for New Gym Equipment

The San Juan Capistrano elementary school was selected as the county's regional award winner in a statewide fitness competition.

Track workouts during recess and healthy-eating earned School students a prize more tangible than good health.

The school was named Orange County's regional award winner in the 2011 Governor’s Challenge Competition.

In the last school year, all 656 of Kinoshita’s students successfully completed the governor’s challenge of being active at least 30 minutes a day at least three days a week for a month. Together the school’s students recorded 72,127 days of physical activity.
