VIDEO: Mock DUI Crash Seen a Different Way

San Juan Hills High students put a cinematic twist on the annual tradition at local high schools, designed to prevent drinking and driving.

Mock DUI crashes staged at high schools are their own rite of passage these days, with police and fire officials hoping they get an important message to sink in.

Students at San Juan Hills experienced the demonstration April 28. But then they went the extra mile and made the above video.

"We are doing a Mock DUI Crash to get the students thinking before prom and the summer months," said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi before the event. "We will not only discuss teen DUI, but the dangers of texting, street racing, being distracted and not wearing seat belts."
