Olympic Volleyball Players Face-Off in San Juan Capo: USA vs. Japan

USA will battle Japan in the USA Volleyball Cup in San Juan Capistrano on Saturday, July 13. This is the USA women’s first match on U.S. soil since the Olympics and their first under new head coach—Karch Kiraly. The teams consist of silver and bronze medalists from the 2012 Olympic Games.

The International Volleyball Federation ranks the U.S. women’s team No. 1 in the world and Japan third. The two teams have strong rivalry. They’ve played each other in 211 matches since 1983.

The match, the third in a three-day series, will be played at JSerra Catholic High School

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for seniors, military and college students, $5 for children and free for ages 3 and under. Tickets can be purchased online.

The tournament starts at UC San Diego in La Jolla on Wednesday and continues at CSU Long Beach on Friday before ending at JSerra  on Saturday.
