Ortega Off-Ramp at the I-5 Gets the Squeeze Thursday Night

Thursday’s the big night (the one we may all come to curse), when construction workers will reconfigure the southbound off-ramp at Ortega Highway at the I-5 Freeway from three lanes to one in San Juan Capistrano.

Here are the ramp and lane closures with which late-night drivers will have to contend this week while the workers make the reduction.

Ramp Closures:

Northbound I-5 off-ramp to Ortega Highway closed  between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday

Northbound I-5 onramp from Ortega Highway closed closed between 11:50 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday  

Southbound I-5 off-ramp to Ortega Highway closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday

Southbound I-5 onramp from Ortega Highway closed between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday 

Lane Closures:

Northbound I-5 Freeway between Camino Capistrano and Junipero Serra Road, lanes closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday

Southbound I-5 freeway between Junipero Serra Road and Camino Capistrano, lanes closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday

Eastbound Ortega Highway between Del Obispo Street and Rancho Viejo Road, lanes closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday

Westbound Ortega Highway between Rancho Viejo Road and Del Obispo Street, lanes closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday

The lane reductions at the southbound off-ramp will remain until Ortega Highway is realigned with Del Obispo which will happen late in the 2 1/2- year project.
