Toys for Tots Looks to Reach 400,000 Kids This Season

Businesses can apply online to serve as drop-off locations.

The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is looking for local businesses to serve as drop-off spots across South Orange County with the goal of donating gifts to 400,000 kids this season.

Sgt. Garrett Decker set up a box at in San Juan Capistrano on Tuesday morning, it's one of three locations in San Juan Capistrano and 300 in the region.

Businesses can sign up online at the Toys for Tots website.

Decker said toys of all kinds are accepted and should be unwrapped. The toys will be distributed as Christmas gifts to needy children in the area.

"Some families will buy a $5 toy, some will buy $20, we don’t mind what the family purchases ... most children are just happy to have a toy," said Decker.
